What's a HAGGIS got to do with Intention Setting?!

The haggis (veg and meat, separate pots) are steaming, tatties and neeps are all mashed up…

The Irn Bru’s chilling in the fridge…

The whiskey cream’s starting to melt into the layers of toasted oats and rapseberries in the cranachan…

My neighbours are crammed into 1 room of our home, my partner vamps up his Scottish accent to toast the haggis and we all dive into the feast.

After food we each read or recite a poem. (Will anyone want to do this?! EVERYONe wants to do this.) We laugh a lot and there’s even lump-in-the-throat moments.

Neighbours’ drinks around Christmastime can feel like an extra pressure, but neighbours’ Burns Night is pure joy for me.

And this all stemmed from asking the question ‘what do we want’ and setting the intention, 4 years ago, that we wanted to feel rooted in our community, connected with our neighbours and create a life with fun, hospitality and connection.

We decided to host 3 community events per year. We schedule them in our diaries. We take action to make them happen.

A life-level intention that works it’s way out through a pile of steaming hot mash and haggis!

 OVER TO YOU:

  • What do YOU want? What kind of life do you want to create?

  • What do you want more of in your life?

You can choose to make it happen. You can decide.

Set the intention ….. say ‘I choose ….’

And then see what actions come from that intention.
